How to Eliminate Heaviness:
A`oodhu billahi min ash-Shaytaani 'r-rajeem. Bismillaahi 'r-Rahmaani 'r-Raheem.
These are heavy days, wherever you try to reach there is heaviness. People smile, but really inside themselves there is no smile. There is a heavy load on everyone and to take away these loads:
عِنْدَ ذِكْرِ الصَّالِحِينَ تَنْزِلُ الرَّحْمَةُ
When the names of the pious are mentioned Allah’s Mercy descends.
(Narrated Sufyan ibn `Uyayana in Imam Ahmad’s Zuhd)
It is said by mentioning the names of pious people, rahmah will descend on you, so to find a way out of this heaviness mention Awliyaullah, because it is easy to mention their names and speak about what they have done in their lives, is it not ?
Every shaykh is responsible for his mureeds. To attract rahmah, mention them, then you will reach understanding, which takes time to reach, but you will feel inspired to mention them. That’s why Grandshaykh `AbdAllah and Mawlana Shaykh Nazim, may Allah bless their souls, always recited:
يا سيد! يا صاحب! يا صديق! يا رسول! يا الله !
“Yaa Sayyid! Yaa Saahib! Yaa Siddiq! Yaa Rasool! Yaa Allah !”
Yaa Sayyid means the Shaykh, yaa Saahib means Mahdi (a), yaa Siddiq means Sayyidina Abu Bakr as-Siddiq (r), yaa Rasool means Rasoolullah (ﷺ ), and yaa Allah is the Mercy in His Hand. Sometimes we recite it like an awraad on the tasbeeh.
When Grandshaykh (q) first mentioned it, he said, “Today I am mentioning a wird opened by Prophet (ﷺ ) to Awliyaullah to enable us to call on the Shaykh, Mahdi (a), Sayyidina Abu Bakr (r) and Sayyidina Rasoolullah (ﷺ ), as mentioning their names opens gates for us from the Shaykh to Mahdi (a) to Sayyidina Abu Bakr as-Siddiq to Prophet (ﷺ ) to Allah (swt). When you mention their names you remember them, and Allah says, “Anyone who remembers Me, I remember them.
